Adam Fischer
Adam joined the EHS team back in October after spending three years at Georgia State managing their chemical hygiene and laboratory safety programs. His primary functions at Georgia Tech include laboratory safety inspections, indoor air quality assessments, and personnel training. He is extremely passionate about promoting the safety culture at Georgia Tech.
Taylor Porterfield
Taylor is the newest member of the Lab and Chemical Safety Team. She previously worked with the Georgia Environmental Protection for nine years working in the Land Protection Branch. During that time she worked on a number of different projects including compliance inspections and corrective actions for hazardous waste treatment facilities, environmental monitoring for landfills, and remediation at contaminated sites. Prior to that, she also worked in environmental and research laboratories.
Cary Redman
Cary is the Deputy Fire Marshal and comes to Georgia Tech with over 30 years of experience in fire protection; 23 years in the fire service with 17 years as a fire marshal. He recently spent eight years as a Senior Fire Protection Consultant servicing multi-million dollars accounts in fire protection systems and engineering site evaluations. He is a certified State of Georgia Fire Inspector and Life Safety Code Instructor and has taught over 350 local and state Fire Marshal Office inspectors and engineers.
Certifications: CFPS, CFI, Fire Investigator (Advanced)
Committees: Served on the ICC Means of Egress Committee representing the Georgia Fire Inspectors Association and State Fire Marshal’s Office, Georgia Fire Code Amendments Committee
