Bridget Mourao is the newly appointed Fire Marshal of Georgia Institute of Technology coming from Emory University, where she served as the Fire Safety Director. She has over twenty years of fire safety management experience. Bridget was born in Illinois, but her formative years were spent growing up in Southern California. She was then hired as a fire fighter with DeKalb County Fire and Rescue, moving her family to Georgia. As a firefighter, she became a Hazardous Materials Technician and Fire Apparatus Engineer. After years of emergency response calls, she developed a passion for fire prevention and life safety. Bridget has a Masters in Public Health and a Juris Master of Law that she earned during her time at Emory University. Her other passions are playing tennis on various teams in Gwinnett County and cooking gourmet meals for her family and friends.
