1. Visually inspect the AED to ensure that the status light is beeping GREEN.
  2. Open wall cabinet door to ensure that the alarm is audible and the light is flashing.
  3. Turn off alarm cabinet with key.
  4. Remove the AED and check the “Ready Kit” for supplies. Required supplies include:
    1. CPR Face Shield (mouth-to-mouth barrier)
    2. Razor
    3. Scissors
    4. Medical Exam Gloves
  5. Ensure that AED pads are present and not expired. Also, make sure that the pad package has not been opened or tampered with. The expiration date of the pad and battery are located on the back of the unit.
  6. Return the AED to its cabinet.
  7. Turn on the alarm with cabinet key.
