Safety Training

 

The Office of General Safety offers a variety of training to promote and ensure a culture of safety for faculty, staff, and students at Georgia Tech. We offer training classes routinely for defensive driving. In person Defensive Driving (6HR) training is for individuals who wish to become eligible to drive institutional vehicles. See our upcoming trainings on this page for details and to register.

We offer Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, and other training classes on-demand. Request a training by emailing us

 

Online Trainings

Online Defensive Driving training is available. This training is for individuals who wish to become eligible to drive institutional vehicles.

To request access to Online Defensive Driving:

  • Go to Genius LMS 
  • Click "GT Login" and use your GT Login (if not already logged in)
  • Click "View Course Catalog"
  • Search for "driving"
  • Click the green "Register" button on the "Defensive Driving Online" card
  • Click "Proceed to Checkout" at the top right of the page
  • Click "Confirm", then "Go to Dashboard"

  • Click on the name of the course (in the "Active Courses" box)
  • In the new window, if you see multiple courses, click on the one you wish to take
  • Click "Modules" in the left navigation menu, then on the first module
  • Once you've completed the presentation, click on "Modules" then on the "Final Test"
  • If you complete the test with a grade at or above the required score, your training is complete. Otherwise, try again.
  • If you have trouble accessing the course, email ors@ors.gatech.edu.

Online Van Safety training is an additional requirement for individuals who wish to drive vans and 15 passenger vehicles. Request access to Online Van Safety by emailing us.
