Hot Work Inspection Request

All inspection requests must be submitted 24 hours in advance of the requested inspection time (excluding weekends). The inspection must occur before the hot work can begin. The GT Fire Safety Office requires Hot Work Permits for the following work:
  • Brazing
  • Cutting
  • Grinding
  • Soldering
  • Sweating
  • Welding

Fire Systems Modification/Shutdown Request

All modification or shutdown requests should be submitted 48 hours in advance of the date of the requests. It may take 48 hours to fulfill requests via our site. If you need immediate assistance, call or email us directly. A fire watch is required if the fire alarm system of the building is affected for more than one hour. Contact firesafety@gatech.edu if you have any questions.

The GT Fire Safety Office requires approval for the following activities:

  • Fire Alarm Testing
  • Fire Alarm System Work/Repairs
  • Fire Sprinkler Inspections
  • Fire Sprinkler Work/Repairs
  • Hot Work - Inside Buildings
  • Construction - Involving Dust, Sanding, Moisture, Etc.

To request approval for modification or shutdown, please complete the form below. The GT Fire Safety Office will notify you when your request has been approved.
