Georgia Tech Facilities Management group was recently awarded the 2018 APPA Award for Excellence, highlighting the essential role of facilities operations in the overall institutional mission.

This award is the highest honor in higher education for outstanding achievements in facilities management. Facilities Management was assessed across seven categories, including leadership, customer focus and innovative practices.  An audit team toured campus and interviewed several stakeholders across many units in A&F and various Schools and Colleges for two days. At their exit interview, they expressed a deep admiration for the pride FM employees clearly demonstrated in their work for Georgia Tech. They were also impressed with recent innovative processes that were implemented to increase efficiency in services.

With 535 people spread across 13 departments, Georgia Tech Facilities Management oversees the built environment for one of the most technically complex campuses in the country. Facilities Management consists of Design and Construction, Operations and Maintenance, and EHS.
